Meet the Visionaries behind Planful Event Kits
With over 45 years of combined event, marketing, and operations experience, these two women have seen it all — from luxury weddings to community fundraisers. Their mission: to help everyday hosts, nonprofits, and small businesses plan with ease, confidence, and joy. Through Planful Event Kits, they’re reimagining what it means to live — and celebrate — Planfully.
Lacy Empkey
Co-Founder
With over 25 years in the industry, Lacy’s journey started in advertising and marketing (BA in Advertising, MBA in Marketing). Trade shows in Las Vegas opened the door to large-scale event producing, and from there, she grew into managing corporate conferences, sponsorship activations, and experiences of every size. She later founded In Alignment Collective and Collective Cheers Tap Co., both rooted in her passion for authenticity and connection.
But over time, hustle culture took its toll. What once brought joy became exhausting to-do lists and late nights. “In Alignment” became not just a business name but her personal reminder to choose balance, authenticity, and joy over burnout.
Ellayna Ormonde
Co-Founder
With 20+ years in events, operations, hospitality, and marketing, Ellayna earned her B.S. in Sports/Entertainment & Event Management from Johnson & Wales University and studied abroad in Event Planning at the University of Galway. She advanced into leadership roles—from COO to Director of Operations—before founding Customer Quality Assurance and later The Savvy Digital Creators, blending digital strategy with event production.
Her strength has always been producing meaningful experiences, but like many women, she pushed herself to extremes—working long hours and believing she had to do it all to “earn” success. Burnout eventually taught her that real success is found in balance, boundaries, and leading with heart.
